If you’re anything like me, sometimes the best kind of travel is the kind that slows you down. No big itinerary. No crowded agendas. Just a peaceful place where you can reconnect—with yourself, with nature, and with your best girls. That’s exactly what we found at Lake Austin Spa Resort, and let me tell you… It was pure bliss.

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Lake Austin Spa Resort has panoramic lake views, and this award-winning spa destination offers everything you need for a peaceful, pampered girls’ weekend. It’s absolutely the best luxury spa resort in Texas.

Why Lake Austin Spa Resort is the Best Girls’ Getaway in Texas

I checked in for some “R&R” with my “blog mom” Tanya, and two other new influencer friends, Megan and Tiffany! From the moment we arrived, we felt spoiled. Lake Austin Spa Resort blends high-end spa treatments, gourmet dining, and luxury accommodations with the natural beauty of the Texas landscape. It’s not just a getaway—it’s an experience.

Beautiful Accommodations With a Personal Touch

Each guest room is uniquely designed with comfort and calm in mind. Our spacious lakefront room had private outdoor seating, cozy beds, and serene views that made every morning feel magical. If you love the charm of boutique hotels with the polish of a luxury retreat—this is it.

Unmatched Spa Services Featuring Natura Bissé

One of the highlights of the trip? The Natura Bissé facial at the on-site LakeHouse Spa. This exclusive treatment left my skin glowing and refreshed. Whether you’re in the mood for a massage, detox wrap, or a skincare boost, the luxury spa menu has something for every kind of self-care seeker.

All-Inclusive Dining That Delivers

Another major perk? All meals are included—and they’re incredible. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted using fresh, seasonal ingredients. You’ll find options that are healthy, indulgent, and everything in between. Pro tip: don’t skip the fresh juices at breakfast or the lakeside dinner views.

Wellness Activities & Outdoor Adventures

Whether you’re into yoga, kayaking, hiking, or simply lounging by the lakefront pool, Lake Austin Spa Resort lets you set your own pace. We started mornings with paddleboard yoga and ended them sipping wine by the water—proof that wellness and relaxation can absolutely go hand in hand.

Blooming Gardens and Serene Grounds

The landscaping at Lake Austin Spa Resort is next-level. The property is overflowing with colorful gardens, quiet walking trails, and cozy corners that invite you to sit and stay awhile. If you’re a flower lover like me, bring your camera—the blooms are breathtaking.

Why It’s the Perfect Luxury Retreat for Women

This was the ultimate girls trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt taken care of. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just need to hit pause on life, this is truly the best wellness resort in Texas for women.

Final Takeaway:
If you’re planning a Texas girls weekend, a mother-daughter trip, or even a solo self-care escape, Lake Austin Spa Resort offers the perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and wellness—with Texas charm and five-star service to match.

Mexico is never a bad idea in my book… I try to book at least one Mexico trip per year, and I just recently got back from Myakoba. Where is that? It’s a tiny area between Playa Del Carmen and Riviera Maya. It’s a hidden gem if you ask me… A few of my other favorite Mexico spots are Punta Mita and Cabo. Last year, I had the most incredible visit to Four Seasons Tamarindo which I must say is the most epic Mexico vacation ever.

No matter where I’m going in Mexico, my wardrobe usually looks the same: black swimsuit + flowy dresses + a cute skirt or shorts combo. Typically, I’m not one to wear a lot of color (surprise surprise) but I did have a Mexico wedding recently so a pretty bright colored mini dress was the perfect choice.

DRESSES

I really tried to pack colorful clothes since it was a beach trip, but the orange maxi dress was the only bright item in my bag this time. My favorite outfit was this black and white dress! I prefer dresses that are flowy at the beach because I hate when they stick to me if it’s too hot.

I may look like a snow bunny, but it’s been a minute since I’ve been on skis… I grew up skiing which I did love and was pretty good at it. However, when you don’t go that often it’s definitely NOT like “riding a bike”! Yes, it’s still fun to hit the slopes for a couple of days but I’d really prefer the après ski life…

Last year, I went to Finland, and although we didn’t ski we did do alllll kinds of fun winter activities where I needed ski gear to stay warm. This ski suit came in handy when we stayed in an ice hotel! Yes, I slept in a complete ice box and it was so incredible.

Fair Isle Sweater // Gold Ski Boots // Ski Sweater // Metallic Puffer Jacket // Ski Suit

Whether you are going skiing or just somewhere COLD I cannot recommend buying a pair of Moon Boots. Okay, I know they kind of look ridiculous because they are so big but I promise you your feet will NEVER get cold. I was beyond thankful I bought two pairs before I went to Finland.

Most people think they are going to be heavy because of how big they look… Nope. They might weigh 5 lbs. Think of a Tempurpedic mattress for your feet.

The next thing you will absolutely need is a ski jacket or ski suit. Lately, the ski suit is what everyone is wearing and I will say the one I have is extremely warm. I only wore a pair of long underwear underneath it and didn’t get that cold.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I have a complete obsession with Aspen. I love the city so much… there’s always something fun to do, somewhere amazing to eat and lots of fun people in the town. Thankfully, I’ve had more excuses to get over there lately since we now have clients there for Muse Consultants… so definitely can’t complain about that!

That being said, I’ve been going there often in both the winter and summer times and one of the most frequent questions I get is what I wear when I’m there. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite looks by season and details on what you need to pack for your getaway to the mountains! Whether you’re going for shopping and food or skiing and après… I’ve got you covered with lots of ideas! And if you’re looking for things to do, check out my Aspen Travel Guide!

SWEATER DRESS OUTFIT: White Cowboy Boots // Brown Sweater Dress // Green Western Hat // Denim Jacket (similar)

FALL IN ASPEN

Alright y’all… Fall in Aspen is absolutely beautiful and now my favorite season by far. There isn’t much to dislike about Aspen year round, but if you are planning a trip promise me you’ll do it in the fall. It looked and felt like I was in a real life painting. Keep in mind… The middle/end of September and first week of October is the best for fall foliage. OUTFIT 1: Denim Jacket (similar) // Black Leggings // Golden Goose Sneakers // Green Western Hat OUTFIT 2: Alo Brown Leggings // Black Puffer Coat // Sherpa Belt Bag // Hiking Sneakers

Outfit 1: White Cowboy Boots (similar here and here) // Black Button Up Top // Suede Moto Jacket // Snake print Purse (old; similar)

Outfit 2: Army Green Coat (similar) // White Cowboy boots (another similar pair) // Black Western Hat (similar)

Even if you aren’t going specifically to Aspen, these outfits are great for any fall trip where layering is required. All things western chic are on trend this year so you’ll always find me in my cowboy boots and rancher hat. I got both my white and green hat from Kemosabe. It’s such a fun experience going in the store to pick out your hat colors, style, shape, ribbons, feathers and personalized branding! Can you guess what mine says?

PACKING GUIDE

Boots or booties
Denim jacket or suede/leather jacket
Black leggings
Light sweater
Graphic t-shirts
Sweater cardigan
Sweater dress
Jeans
Puffer jacket
Hat

SUMMER IN ASPEN

Summer is actually the most popular time in Aspen… Most would think winter, but people can stay longer in the summer and the weather is impossible to beat. My goal is to be up there majority of the summer next year if possible. Trying to get a few more clients before that’s a reality… If not, I’ll at least try to go for a few weeks like I did this summer. Especially during Food & Wine Festival!

I wouldn’t recommend going to Aspen until mid-June or after… It’s rainy season through May so you can’t do a lot of hiking or outdoor activities. It was so fun taking the dogs up with me and taking Charlie hiking. I can’t wait to take him this winter when there is snow. He might actually never leave, haha.

SAN MIGUEL OUTFIT GUIDE https://www.onesmallblonde.com/san-miguel-outfit-guide/ https://www.onesmallblonde.com/san-miguel-outfit-guide/#comments Sat, 02 Apr 2022 14:54:51 +0000 https://www.onesmallblonde.com/?p=22109

Two weddings. Same location. Same day. Yes, that is correct. I had two of my good friends end up getting married in San Miguel at the same time! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to attend both weddings on that night but I did get to spend time and celebrate with both of them. They really couldn’t have picked a better location to have a destination wedding!

San Miguel is by far one of the most picturesque places I’ve visited. We stopped on almost every corner to take a photo…no joke. I knew the city was known for it’s colorful vibes so as shocking as it is to some of you all I did pack accordingly. I know… Me? Lots of color? Have I lost my mind after taking a little hiatus recently? Don’t worry there was still black in my suitcase like the embroidered dress above 😉

I will say I really loved all of my outfits for this trip. Words of advice though… Don’t wear heels! Every street is cobblestone so flats are the way to go. I promise. Or, bring a bigger purse so you can swap out your shoes. Also, bring a jacket because it may be warm during the day but it gets quite chilly at night!

I’ve linked all my outfits below along with some collages for any warm weather vacations you might be taking soon!

WHAT TO WEAR IN LAS VEGAS https://www.onesmallblonde.com/what-to-wear-in-las-vegas/ https://www.onesmallblonde.com/what-to-wear-in-las-vegas/#comments Tue, 22 Oct 2019 21:32:00 +0000 https://www.onesmallblonde.com/?p=17977

If there is any excuse for you to be a little “extra” then it’s Vegas! I mean why the hell not? We know I’m not one to be too over the top though. I mean sequin pants were a big deal for me! But, I think it was my most loved outfit on IG stories over the weekend. That’s why I thought I’d share my thoughts on what to wear in Las Vegas. And, still keep it classy.

WHAT TO PACK FOR LAS VEGAS

SEQUINS

PANTS | TOP (SIMILAR) | HEELS (SIMILAR)

If you are going to wear sequins then please do NOT wear ALL sequins. Be glam. But, don’t be a disco ball. Sequin pants are a great way to add sequins into your outfit mix. I can’t link these exact ones, but found a few similar ones below! I actually have a matching sequin blazer with these pants which I would’ve totally worn with black jeans for an alternative sequin outfit idea.

LEATHER

TOP (SIMILAR) | PURSUE (SIMILAR) | SHOES (SIMILAR)

Leather can elevate an outfit, but, unless it’s done right, I wouldn’t wear head to toe leather or leather that is too tight. Remember Ross in that Friends episode? Haha. I love a leather skirt moment because it’s a balance of classy and sexy and if you wish to, you can pair your outfit with a leather jacket with a skirt, as this works and actually looks cute without it being too much.

GRAPHIC TEE

GRAPHIC TEE (SIMILAR) | JEANS | CARDIGAN

When you’re hanging out during the day in Las Vegas you’ll probably want to be comfortable. You know in case you’re hung over… So you can still have some Vegas style with a cute graphic t-shirt for any look of your choice.

STUDDED BOOTS

BOOTS (SIMILAR) | BOOTIES (SIMILAR)

Okay, I admit this is a big trend lately, but I am officially on board now. I love a cowboy boot, and finding boots that you love is honestly an addiction because they’re so chic, comfortable, high-quality, and pair well with anything. I wore these booties walking around all day, and my feet didn’t hurt. Also, I like them because they aren’t a super bright white, more cream and grey-ish. They’ve got a good heel height too. Lastly, they really kinda go with everything… You can see how I dressed them up with a classic black top to add a chic and comfortable touch.

ANIMAL PRINT

BLAZER (SIMILAR) | HEELS (SIMILAR)

Yes, yes, yes… I know animal print is all over the place right now, but that’s because it’s a trend that I don’t see going away. EVER. Let’s keep it classy again by not going overboard with too much animal print. An animal print dress is usually the safest bet (but the one I am wearing is sold out, so here is a similar one) with a blazer would be SO cute!

Yes, it’s Las Vegas so you can bend the rules a little bit. Just keep in mind… Less is More. Even in Vegas 😉

Happy Travel Tuesday y’all! This week I’m finally sharing my Rosemary Beach recap from our trip to 30A. I’ve been to the 30A area once before, but we stayed at a friends beach house so didn’t explore the area too much. That’s why I was so excited to go back for this trip. If you’ve never heard of 30A it’s a highway that runs through a few beaches in the panhandle of Florida. Funny story… I met a lady recently who knows the guy that bought the website domain “30A” and created the whole brand. He didn’t even live in Florida! Ha!

My favorite spot in 30A is Rosemary Beach! Mostly because it’s so darn cute. Although, everywhere along the 30A strip is super cute and very family friendly. I definitely want to have family vacations down there one day. And the sunsets here are some of the best I’ve ever seen!!

We stayed at The Pointe at 30A which is right off the highway.

This place is so amazing because every room is basically like an apartment. Totally enough room for 5 girls and all of our crap! We could easily walk to the beach or down to any of the restaurants at Rosemary Beach.

TIP: Yes, we could walk to Rosemary Beach from our hotel but we had to drive to get to the other beaches down the way. You’ll 100% want to rent a car on your trip!! We got a cute white jeep which was so fun to cruise around with the top off.

Carmel By The Sea - WHERE TO STAY | One Small Blonde

I totally understand why people love Carmel so much now! This quiet sleepy town on the California coast is so dang cute. So a little backstory… This was part of the trip I was supposed to take with my ex-boyfriend over Valentine’s Day. I wasn’t going to let it go to waste so I asked my brunette bestie and other single gal pal, Lynlee. We’ve traveled together a ton and always have the best time. Believe me we made the BEST of this girls trip…

We had three days to explore the Carmel area so we decided to make the most of it and visit Big Sur and Pebble Beach since they were so close. Honestly, we didn’t really need more than a few days to explore everything. I mean we don’t golf and we could only drink so much wine, haha. So we basically ate and drank majority of the trip… Not complaining!

Our Mexico trip was a bit of a whirlwind so all we really wanted to do was relax and have a good time. We went to bed early every night and it was glorious. You really can’t wake up or ever be in a bad mood if you lived in Carmel. I mean all you have to do is walk down the street to the beach and everything just seems so peaceful.

The weather is around 65 degrees year round so pack layers! I recommend a denim jacket for sure and sneakers. Everywhere is fairly casual so you’ll be just fine in a pair of jeans.

WHERE TO STAY

I found my future home while we were in Carmel… It was even for sale! I just need fifty more years to save for it. However, if you want a quaint place to stay I highly recommend La Playa Carmel. Everything about this place was adorable. The amazing flowers all over the property are gorgeous. And let’s just talk about the beautiful decor and attention to detail from this 1900s hotel. Yes, it’s that old but has been restored so we can enjoy this piece of history. The property was actually a gift to the guys wife who was part of the Ghirardelli family.

Also, I would recommend their sister property Hotel Carmel which I hope to stay at next time! Both are walking distance to the square where all of the shops and restaurants are located.

WHERE TO EAT IN CARMEL BY THE SEA

Honestly, I don’t think you could have a bad meal here. We were overwhelmed with options so we tried to pop into as many places as we could even if it was just for a drink. There are also a lot of wine tasting rooms which I’d highly recommend doing a fun wine tour one day. If you have time I’d take the 20 minute drive into Carmel Valley and explore the wineries too!

Casanova’s

I wasn’t sure about going to SXSW in Austin again this year… But, I’m so happy I did 🙂 This trip came at exactly the perfect time. I just came out of a breakup so a girls trip was probably the best thing for me. Otherwise, I’m the type of person who will sit home and think about things until I’m so mentally exhausted I can’t handle it. So why not go down to Austin for a worry free weekend away from all of my troubles?!

I’ve been to SXSW Austin a few times now, but this year was by far the best. Mainly because the weather was absolutely amazing. Literally 70-75 degrees the entire weekend! It finally felt like spring! I feel like I’m usually wearing spring clothes way before this time of year, but the cold just really wanted to stick around which hasn’t made me want to put on a dress or shorts when it’s just for a photo. But I’m finally feelin it and I think this weekend got the creative juices flowing again because I love all of these outfits. Which one is your favorite??

FALL IN MONTANA https://www.onesmallblonde.com/fall-in-montana-packing-guide/ https://www.onesmallblonde.com/fall-in-montana-packing-guide/#comments Tue, 09 Oct 2018 23:51:27 +0000 https://www.onesmallblonde.com/?p=14379
]]>

My trip to Montana last week literally felt like I was in a real-life painting! I’ve never seen so many beautiful fall trees with bright yellow, orange, and red leaves. In Dallas, I have one tree on my street that gets bright yellow leaves on it in the fall but that lasts for maybe one week…sigh. I tried to take a ton of pictures but also wanted to take it all in and not be behind a camera the entire trip. These pictures don’t even do Montana justice because it was so breathtaking!

So I randomly won this trip to Montana back in June at a press event with Glacier Montana and Destination Missoula (almost didn’t attend the event!). When I got the email saying I won I knew my dad would LOVE to go on this trip. Since he has taken me on so many trips in the last thirty years I figured I should invite him and my mom on the trip. If you watched any of my Instagram stories you saw he didn’t take off his cowboy hat through almost the entire trip, haha. But if you are in Montana why not?

FALL IN MONTANA: PACKING GUIDE

Cowboy hat
Flannel shirt (or 3…)
Denim shirt
Hiking boots
Water resistant coat

We split our time between Missoula and Whitefish which was perfect because the drive up was amazing. I do wish we would’ve had one more day because there was so much to do. I’ll share everything we did with you all below. Plus, the weather was absolutely perfect and I did not want to come back to the Dallas humidity.

After landing in Missoula on Monday afternoon we decided to take the afternoon to explore the cute town. We grabbed a bite to eat and then went on a distillery tour at Montgomery Distillery where I wore this fur jean jacket. By far the best purchase for this trip!! Did y’all know whiskey gets its color from the wood barrels being charred on the inside?! Learn something new everyday!

TIP:

There is now a direct flight to Missoula on American Airlines! Super quick and easy from DFW!

The next day my dad and I went fly fishing about an hour outside of Missoula. I grew up on the lake fishing so I felt pretty good about catching a fish. Although I’m not a very patient person so can’t say I’d be down to do this all day long, ha. (BTW…We had to have bear spray while hiking around the river!!) My dad caught a fish on his second cast! #showoff 😉 I got the hang of the casting thing fairly quickly… Probably because I was freezing my butt off and was eager to catch a fish so I could get back in the car. Low and behold I finally caught one

There are a TON of breweries in the area!

We could’ve done an entire day of brewery hopping if we had more time. We actually found a beer my mom liked which was a huckleberry cider so that’s an accomplishment. **They are known for huckleberry in Western Montana so literally EVERYTHING was “huckleberry this or huckleberry that” but I’m a huge fan now. My shirt kinda matches the Huckleberry theme! Also, this white teddy bear coat came in clutch on the trip.

I think the horseback ride through the countryside and river was my absolute favorite thing we did in Montana. I wasn’t expecting to be so adventurous because most horseback rides are pretty low-key. Ummmmm…no we were galloping up the mountainside and trotting through a river!

Stopping at Sweet Pickins Pumpkin Patch on our drive to Whitefish was a highlight of the drive up! Like how stinkin cute is this place?! I was definitely the oldest “kid” at this place but I didn’t care one bit. When I become a grandma I’m so opening a little pumpkin patch like this place.

I don’t know how many lakes or rivers there are in Montana because there are sooooo many… However, I do know Flathead Lake is the biggest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi (I think?). We drove around the east side of the lake on the way up to Whitefish because it’s a bit more scenic.

We made it to Whitefish late afternoon where we stayed at The Lodge at Whitefish.

This place was everything you could imagine a lodge would be… There was a huge fireplace in the lobby and a giant bear statue when you walked in. It overlooked Whitefish Lake which had the most beautiful sunset views.

Okay the actual town of Whitefish was the cutest mountain town I’ve ever been to. My mom and I had so much fun popping in and out of all the little shops. I’m 100% coming back up here for ski season because I know it would be so pretty when it’s snowing out.

The biggest reason to visit Western Montana is to go to Glacier National Park.

We almost didn’t get to go!! They got 10 inches of snow the night before we were planning to up and do a hike. I was soooo bummed because I had been looking at photos all week on Instagram and I was determined to get a photo up there…success!!!!!

Y’all… I know I’ve said everything was so pretty but this was the icing on the cake. It was BEAUTIFUL! Even though we could only go up into the park about 16 miles it was absolutely worth it. There was snow on the ground and even though it was a little cloudy it didn’t matter. Everywhere you looked it was pretty. I really really really wanted to do a real hike, but my parents were not going to make it on a 2-mile hike. Next time next time…

On our way back down through the park we finally found “the spot” where I took the picture at the very beginning of this post. Even though the area had just had major wildfires and a lot of the mountainside was burnt it was still picture-perfect.

I know most people would probably want to go up to Montana in the summer when it’s perfect weather… Especially if you live in the south. However, I really would encourage you to go around the end of September to see these fall colors. It’s a little colder but this was a trip I’ll remember for a lifetime.

WHAT TO DO IN MONTANA

Fly Fishing
Horseback Ride at Dunrovin Ranch
Distillery Tour
Drive around Flathead Lake
Sweet Pickins Pumpkin Patch
Dinner/drinks at The Lodge at Whitefish
Shopping in Whitefish
Plan a hike in Glacier National Park!!!!!!!

I don’t have a ton of restaurant recommendations because nothing was “omg good”, but this trip was more about all the things to do so I didn’t care about eating (which is odd…). Just make sure to get all the things Huckleberry!
